These materials will be very beneficial to students in the classroom promoting opportunities for social and emotional learning. The social-emotional learning would include dramatic play ie: dolls, a playhouse to imitate the home environment, and family interactions. The play food, kitchen items ie: broom, mop, pots, and pans will help with social interactions with peers and adults and imitation and imagination. Children will also have opportunities for academic learning because children learn through play ie: colors, shapes, kitchen items, sorting etc. These materials will also allow for exploration including science- dinosaurs, microscope, insects, and bugs exploration. The materials I have requested will take learning to both lower or higher levels of my students who may not have those same opportunities and educational and learning materials in the home. It will provide play opportunities to interact with peers and engage in pretend play and lots of discovery. This will help to enhance their learning and development for the future.
