He said, "Class, class is my heart, that is where my heart goes." My students are creative, imaginative, fun, caring, and brilliant. My class is made up of students from 1st through 6th grade who are significantly impact by their disability. I teach a Life Skills Autism classroom, but I also learn from my students who see this world with such a awesome perspective. I work with students that struggle with functional and behavioral skills, working with them to help them learn to express needs and want. My students know what they like but communicating this to others is not easy. Attempts to communicate that are not understood create feeling frustration and disconnection to others.
