Thanks to your support, I was able to add fidget toys for my students who need a little extra movement throughout the day, as well as items for our calm-down corner where students can practice managing their emotions and finding strategies to feel calm and ready to learn.\r\n\r\nWe also received some amazing wiggle ball chairs that my students have absolutely LOVED! These chairs give students an alternative seating option that allows them to move while still participating in classroom learning. It has been so fun to see how excited they are to use them!\r\n\r\nAs a first-grade teacher, one of my biggest goals is to create a classroom where every student feels supported, comfortable, and ready to learn. All of my students absolutely loved the book we received! It was funny, entertaining, and kept every one of my readers engaged from beginning to end. Even some of my more reluctant readers were eager to participate and find out what would happen next!\r\n\r\nReading in our classroom is all about building confidence, developing comprehension skills, and helping students discover a love for books. Through this new text, we were able to practice important reading skills such as making predictions, identifying character traits, discussing story elements, and supporting our thinking with evidence from the text.
