The use of manipulatives during math instruction allows for students to have a visual and concrete representation for a variety of math concepts. They are also very useful for RTI groups, that are held daily, to help students who may be struggling to learn and grow. Place value, money, time, measurement, and fractions are all major concepts we learn about in second grade. When all students have the opportunity to have a hands-on experience using manipulatives, they are more engaged and their desire and eagerness to learn is increased. I have seen first hand the impact math manipulatives have on every learner in my classroom. The products I have selected will give every student in my classroom access to quality learning every day. Students will be able to focus on the content being taught and not worry about whether or not they will have a chance to use, or access to, materials that will meet their learning needs.
