As a teacher, it is my job to teach my students the academic skills they need to be successful and move on to the next grade, but teaching is so much more than that. It is my belief that all children need to be taught social and emotional skills in addition to academic skills. I believe they need to be taught things like self-acceptance, communication, creativity, respect, responsibility, and so much more. I have a huge passion for teaching these things and a desire to teach my students to be successful in all aspects of life. My goal is to help support them on their journey to becoming successful and well-functioning adults. The books I am requesting for this project will allow me to teach these skills in a fun and engaging way. It will also help me to continue to promote a love for stories and books by giving them access to great books.
