I used these books primarily for my life and social skills unit that I rolled out in my classroom, but often used these books to regulate students or reteach skills.\r\n\r\nThese books focused on building skills that would help them add to our classroom community in a fun, visual way. They aligned with different skills such as patience, gratitude, and teamwork. My group this year struggled with many of these behaviors, so it was nice to have the tools to refer back to important skills that helped refocus our classroom objective. I often used these for read aloud. I would then share with parents the different lessons we were teaching, and the picture book that best aligned with those focuses.\r\n\r\nAgain, I appreciate the support to help build our classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1756567712837,"projectUrl":"project/books-that-build-us-life-skills-for-lit/9380351/","projectTitle":"Books That Build Us: Life Skills for Little Leaders!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Hiller","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9053154_orig.jpg?crop=800,800,x0,y96&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1715098895109","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9053154"},{"teacherId":9053154,"projectId":9380636,"letterContent":"Thank you for your willingness to donate to this project. Many of the board games were new to them as they have mostly technology materials at home. It made me happy to see them enjoy what they were doing.\r\n\r\nMoving forward, I would love to use these materials as a way for students to have regulating moments and brain breaks. They were excited about the different themes each month, and it made the experience feel fresh and fun every time. More importantly, they were fully engaged in their counting. They weren't just going through the motions. They were thinking, organizing, grouping, and problem-solving as they counted their objects.\r\n\r\nCounting collections are so important because they help students build a strong foundation in number sense. Students learn how numbers work, how to count efficiently, and how to make sense of quantities in a way that actually sticks.
