The new books form this project have been wonderful additions. \r\n Our class favorite is Pete the Cat: I Love My White Shoes. This book teaches children to keep a positive attitude when things go wrong, captured by Pete's famous mantra: \"it's all good.\" The text also helps young learners track and order a beginning-middle-end sequence of events. Sequencing is a skill we are currently working on.\r\nReading stimulates imagination, develops social skills and helps preschoolers learn about the world. We continue to enjoy many fun learning opportunities both indoors and out. The bean bag toss has been a great interactive way for the children to identify uppercase and lowercase letters when they toss, catch, or land on a target letter. Besides letter knowledge, this game helps develop hand-eye coordination and gross motor development. The clean sand is amazing for our sensory table. Just recently we hid dog bones with letters on them and the students had to find and record all the letters. This sand is soft, low on dust, and it molds well when slightly damp so we will be using often. The children love taking the bubble wands and chalk outdoors. We are looking forward to ordering the caterpillars in the spring to witness their metamorphosis.
