The donations our first grade class has received have made a tremendous impact on our students' learning and daily school experience. The new books have truly become a hit in our classroom; many of our students have connected deeply with the characters, and our weekly visits from some of our sixth-grade storytime readers have sparked a genuine excitement for reading. \"No Boy\" quickly became a class favorite, and the students were thrilled when the new sixth graders recently returned to read the books Wepa! to them. These moments have inspired many of our first graders to explore books independently with newfound confidence.\r\n\r\nThe snacks have also played an important role in supporting our learners. For some students, hunger can become a challenge before the school day ends, and having snacks available has helped them stay focused and comfortable. They especially appreciate having their special treats after working hard on big tests!\r\n\r\nThe pipe cleaners have become an engaging tool for word work that helps students strengthen both reading and writing skills through hands-on practice. Additionally, the privacy folders and triangular pencils are used every single day and have made a noticeable difference in helping students stay organized, focused, and confident in their work.\r\n\r\nOverall, every donated item has contributed meaningfully to our classroom. Your care and support has been clearly felt by both students and myself, and we are deeply grateful for your generosity that has helped to promote our learners' growth.","fullyFundedDate":1755970340951,"projectUrl":"project/small-but-mighty-readers-setting-up-for/9519849/","projectTitle":"Small but Mighty Readers: Setting up for Success","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Troche","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9226838_orig.jpg?crop=712,712,x0,y130&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1693156528695","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9226838"},{"teacherId":8413159,"projectId":9485176,"letterContent":"My students are coming in and out of the office with all kinds of sickness such as stomach virus, nose bleeds, cold symptoms, wound injury, etc.. The cleaning supplies have played an essential role in keeping our classroom tidy and healthy. By disinfecting our space regularly, we have been able to reduce the spread of germs and create a cleaner, safer environment for learning. The headphones have given each student the ability to focus on their individual lessons without distractions. When my students pass their weekly exam, we have a small celebration, and they get to choose their prize. \r\n\r\nWhen my students saw all the boxes coming in from the office, they were so excited. Their little eyes were about to pop out their heads. The boxes had to be placed on a rolling cart. They screamed and shouted as they know we are about to celebrate more, and they have choices.\r\n\r\nWe will continue to strengthen our classroom and the small projects they we have daily and weekly. The experience not only allows me as the teacher to quickly correct any mistakes but show them in real form how the letter, number, or words should be written and /or formed. We use the Lysol wipes and spray to clean up after ourselves to ensure that germs are not being kept on our desk or that we spreading them (germs) around from our hands. As we have fun learning with our play-doh, we also get to enjoy the treats that you blessed us with. The sour patch kids are great behavior incentives and awards for students that excel in their studies. The Airheads and the mixed candies will be our weekly sweet attack on Fridays; when we need just a little sugar to push us until dismissal. \r\nI had already been sharing with my students about our project getting funded, so my students were very excited to see when the boxes began to arrive. When my students first saw the boxes, they asked so many questions. I made a guessing game out of it. If they were able to guess what was in the box, they received a treat from the box. I love for my students to have fun. And I love to award them. It's so needed. Some do not get enough positive recognition. \r\nAs my students prepare for 2nd grade, the stronger they will become in building words thanks to you.
