Using the document camera and classroom display, I can demonstrate skills step-by-step while students work with the same materials at their desks. Students can clearly see how I model sound-symbol relationships, decoding strategies, word patterns, and other literacy skills before practicing them independently.\r\n\r\nThe reading materials have also given my students opportunities to apply these skills in connected text. As we read together, students can highlight important information, track words and sentences, and practice strategies directly within the text. This is especially valuable for students with dyslexia because they benefit from explicit \r\ninstruction, repeated practice, and having a visual model to reference as they work.\r\n\r\nI have already seen how these resources help make instruction more accessible and engaging for my students. In class our students created a giant sign we were able to hang to help create a special ambiance.\r\n    My kids were more engaged with creating their displays than just about anything else we have done all year. Having real supplies and materials help create a sense of weight and importance - my kids get to feel like the writing they have done is worth celebrating and sharing. The entire event is really designed to help empower kids to understand the power of their self-expression and having the right materials is critical to that. \r\n    The remaining supplies are going to be used in our upcoming Poetry Slam and our final year end event. These events are really the cornerstone of our program. They are the moment when writing becomes something bigger than just a page in their journal or a document on their screen - it becomes a bridge to other peoples' humanity. Thank you for helping us. These props have become central to their rehearsal process, helping them build confidence, collaborate with one another, and understand how storytelling comes alive onstage.\r\n\r\nOur play ended up being a huge success. We grossed the most in tickets sales EVER! Also, our administration said this was the best play we have ever put on!
