Having sturdy, organized shelves has also given the children a sense of ownership; they take genuine pride in picking out their own books and returning them to their designated spots.\r\n\r\nWhen the boxes first arrived and were unpacked, the classroom was filled with pure joy and gasps of excitement. The moment they saw the vibrant rug and the soft floor cushions, several students cheered and immediately asked, \"Are these really for us?\" They could hardly wait for circle time to test out the new stools. Their eyes lit up seeing their classroom space upgraded, and that immediate excitement translated into a renewed enthusiasm for coming to school each morning. Feeling cared for by people outside our classroom walls made them feel incredibly special.\r\n\r\nWith our newly organized library and comfortable gathering area in place, our students are diving headfirst into an author study project. They are using the organized shelves to research different genres, track their daily reading goals, and collaborate in comfortable small groups on the new rug. Next week, they will be writing and illustrating their own original short stories to share with their peers during a special \"Author's Chair\" reading session on our rug. I could not believe I had 500 dollars to spend. I was overwhelmed with the possibilities to enrich our classroom. Our students loved the wobbly stool, they love getting to have flexible seating. I was able to use the furniture piece to display our math manipulatives in a way that makes them very accessible to students. I have been wanting to do that since the beginning of the school year, but I just did not have the funds for furniture. I use the prizes to incentivize my students to do homework to win a raffle. All of these things would not be possible without donors like you!
