Binders provide a way for students to be accountable for their own learning by making them responsible for their notes and work. We focus on strategies to keep notes organized that will help them through high school and eventually college. I am responsible for about 150 students and without binders, it is difficult to allow kids the opportunity to take responsibility for their learning by having access to notes, tests, and practice work. Being a class that is state tested, it is imperative for my kids to learn how to reference previous notes in order to answer their own questions, make connections throughout the year, and successfully review in order to pass the test and be promoted to high school.
