Our athletes have been excited to use the new agility equipment during practices and conditioning. We use it to work on footwork, coordination, balance, quickness, reaction time, and change of direction. The girls have enjoyed challenging themselves and encouraging one another as they work through each activity. What may look like simple drills have become opportunities for our athletes to build confidence and develop skills that they can carry into volleyball, basketball, track, and soccer.\r\n\r\nOne of the most rewarding parts for me as a coach is watching the girls become more comfortable challenging themselves. I remind them that they do not have to be perfect when they first try something. They just have to keep working and improve with each attempt. We celebrate effort, progress, teamwork, and personal accomplishments—not just who finishes first. The equipment has helped make conditioning more engaging and has given our athletes new ways to push themselves while working together as a team.\r\n\r\nMoving forward, we will continue incorporating the agility equipment into our practices and conditioning sessions. Our goal is to help each girl become stronger, quicker, more coordinated, and more confident while developing healthy habits that can benefit her both on and off the court or field. Our 7th and 8th grade girls are using the equipment during conditioning and skill-development activities to build strength, agility, balance, coordination, and endurance. They were eager to try the different exercises and learn how each piece could help them become stronger athletes. I have used these moments to remind them that improvement takes effort and consistency. The equipment has helped make conditioning more engaging while giving our girls opportunities to challenge themselves in a positive environment.\r\n\r\nOur next step is to continue incorporating the equipment into our regular practices and conditioning sessions while helping our athletes recognize their progress. We will continue setting individual and team goals and encouraging our girls to work toward becoming stronger, faster, more coordinated, and more confident. I used the candy incentives as a small way to build rapport, create a welcoming environment, and encourage students to participate in their learning. At first, some students were hesitant about intervention, but having a positive incentive helped create excitement and gave me an opportunity to connect with them. The candy was never just about the reward; it became a way for me to celebrate their effort, progress, participation, and willingness to keep trying.\r\n\r\nOne of my favorite moments has been seeing students become more comfortable during intervention and begin to take ownership of their learning. I remind them that the goal is not simply to earn a piece of candy, but to recognize the hard work they are putting into improving their skills. Students are encouraged to set goals, participate in activities, and celebrate small successes along the way. The incentives have helped me build stronger relationships with my students and create an intervention environment where they feel supported, encouraged, and motivated to grow.\r\n\r\nAs we continue our intervention lessons, I will continue using positive reinforcement along with engaging academic activities, goal setting, and meaningful feedback. My hope is that the relationships and confidence we are building will help students recognize that they are capable of making progress.
