They learned how to create logos using Canva from the district Tech Specialist. Students: designed logos, learned how to use technology to print (Cricut and InkJet Printer), and ironed their designs on t-shirts. Additionally, they surveyed their peers and teachers throughout the school. They were required to get at least 25 surveys per person, so we could analyze the data and make informed decisions. Students determined the costper shirt and how much it would take to make one. The students then created these videos to propose a fundraising opportunity for Lakeview Middle! The money we are raising is going to be used for future class field trips. Our expenses are high because we have to utilize a specialized bus for a student in a wheelchair. When my students first saw the new whiteboard tables, their eyes lit up with excitement, and they immediately wanted to try them out. We used the tables for a recent math project where students worked in small groups to solve challenging word problems. They loved gathering around, sharing ideas, and writing their thinking directly on the tables. This hands-on space sparked their curiosity and encouraged collaboration, participation, and discussion, helping students better understand mathematical concepts through peer support. I've noticed students becoming more confident and engaged as they explore different strategies together. The tables also allow me to quickly assess their thinking and provide immediate feedback, improving both confidence and comprehension. I only wish I had more tables so that all students could use them daily instead of rotating on a weekly schedule.","fullyFundedDate":1758229913824,"projectUrl":"project/tables-that-spark-math-minds/9468078/","projectTitle":"Tables That Spark Math Minds","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Quintana","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp3133351_272x272.png?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1473205287310","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/3133351"},{"teacherId":5444905,"projectId":3361731,"letterContent":"Thanks to your generous support, our classroom has been transformed into a more vibrant and engaging reading space. The new books you helped provide have introduced my students to a diverse range of voices, cultures, and historical contexts that they might never have encountered otherwise. These texts have allowed us to dive deep into essential reading skills such as identifying central themes, analyzing character development, making inferences, and connecting literature to broader historical and social contexts. We have also used these books to support critical thinking and rich class discussions, encouraging students to express their interpretations with confidence and evidence.\r\n\r\nReading in our classroom is now a dynamic and interactive experience. Students participate in book clubs, journal reflections, and peer-led discussions, which have helped them become more confident readers and thinkers. One student in particular, who previously struggled to connect with reading material, has been captivated by a novel that reflects her own background and interests. She now volunteers to read aloud and share insights, something she was once too shy to do. Your donation has helped create moments like this—where students see themselves in literature and grow both academically and personally. We are truly grateful for the impact you have made on our classroom community.","fullyFundedDate":1536250989326,"projectUrl":"project/roaring-toward-literacy-and-building-our/3361731/","projectTitle":"Roaring Toward Literacy and Building Our Future!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Benson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp5444905_orig.jpg?crop=3024,3024,x0,y1008&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1746540653300","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/ms-b-history"},{"teacherId":1198234,"projectId":9055088,"letterContent":"Thanks to the generous support of 3Mgives Greenville SC, my students were able to better understand STEM concepts through colorful visuals and high-quality printed materials.
