In my classroom I try to foster a diverse, safe and welcoming environment and culture for all learners. Many of the students in my classroom find their only safe and welcoming space within the walls of our school. It is my responsibility and passion to ensure that these characteristics are maximized and equitable for every child. Providing flexible seating will help students remain engaged and comfortable and limit fatigue that detract from student focus and retention of information. I also place a huge emphasis in my room on Social Emotional Learning and by equipping students with the physical tools such as fidgets, I can help students form positive habits and emotional regulation skills. Educating students about the diverse cultures, customs and ideas that are found within our world helps them grow into kind, inclusive and thoughtful global citizens. Thank you for contributing to the growth of our classroom community!
