Often times it feels as though special education teachers get left out of acquiring materials for their students. Through this Donors Choose project I was able to fund a project for my students. \r\n\r\nWe utilized this novel as a way to look at situations different characters go through and how they see those situations through their own eyes versus other characters. We also used this novel to discuss how different persepectives effect the outcomes of situations. \r\n\r\nMany of my students are struggling readers who can't read this novel independently. At this age, many of my students may no longer be read aloud to at home. In my classroom I read outloud to the students. I also encourage the students to take a chance and read aloud among their peers. And they did with this novel!
