I chose the novels that I did because I want my students to enjoy reading! These novels, Holes, James and the Giant Peach, The Terrible Two, and Fuzzy Mud, will allow me to capture my students interests while teaching them 6th and 7th grade reading and language arts concepts such as figurative language, plot, and characterization. The bean bags that I have chosen will allow my students to get comfortable while they enjoy the new novels they are reading. The students I have need more flexibility in their seating options. Allowing my students flexibility in their learning style, will allow them to open their minds to learning. An integral part of getting students to learn is getting them interested and comfortable. These materials will allow my students the feel comfortable in the classroom.
