With the pandemic fully upon us, we are in uncharted territory as educators. This project will help to fund a digital and print edition of Storyworks magazine for each of my students for the entire school year. The flexibility in having both provides materials for my in-class and online learners, as we navigate a hybrid model. I am hoping to instill a sense of excitement that motivates my students to WANT to read, not HAVE to read. Storyworks is a thrilling resource that includes multiple genres in each issue. These fiction and nonfiction pieces are engaging and high interest for even the most reluctant readers. My Title I students can benefit from the built-in differentiated tools and standards-based lessons. Each issue provides corresponding videos to motivate readers and spark interest. This comprehensive teaching tool will expose my students to variety of well-written pieces that they can look forward to each issue!
