Before this donation, our teachers often spent their own resources on flimsy home laminating sheets or watched helplessly as expensive, hand-made learning materials succumbed to daily wear and tear.\r\nThe Impact of Your Gift\r\nYour contribution is already making a tangible difference across our school:\r\nSpecial Education: Teachers are now creating choice boards to support social/emotional learning and personalized checklists for students to use to self edit and promote independence.\r\nSpeech and Language: Our speech and language teacher laminated picture cards that can now be used over and over to inspire the speech analysis she needs to use to progress monitor.\r\nBlind and Visually Impaired: Our teacher of the Blind and Visually Impaired has laminated number boards and added braille dots to them. This helps the boards withstand the heavy use that comes with feeling/reading for our students and makes it accessible for many more students.\r\nMath: One of our middle school math teachers made laminated properties of multiplication cards to help students study.\r\nELA: Our Wilson Reading instructor will be laminating her very expensive cards to preserve the program materials for years to come.\r\nSustainability: By preserving our posters, maps, and instructional aids, we are significantly reducing our school's paper waste and long-term supply costs.\r\n\"Having access to a professional laminator means we can create high-quality, professional-looking resources that our students take pride in using. It has saved us hours of prep time and countless out-of-pocket dollars.\" — Diane Honor, Grades 5-8 Learning Support Teacher\r\n\r\nLooking Ahead\r\nBecause of your kindness, our classrooms are more vibrant, organized, and prepared. You haven't just given us a machine; you've given our teachers the ability to create lasting pieces of learning for future students.\r\nThank you for investing in our school and for believing in the work we do. We are grateful for your kindness and generosity.","fullyFundedDate":1764187002189,"projectUrl":"project/live-learn-and-laminate/9908322/","projectTitle":"Live, Learn and Laminate","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Honor","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-4_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/3595227"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_49603","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":259,"numTeachers":18,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":90,"percentWhite":1,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":3,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"14.4:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":58.5,"schoolId":49603,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Overbrook Educational Center on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Overbrook Educational Center","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/pennsylvania/philadelphia-city-school-district/overbrook-educational-center/49603"}
