They loved all of the choices that I gave them and were even happier when I said that they would get to keep everything. After they received their books, they sat together on the carpet to read with each other. My students also sat together if they had the same books to partner read the stories. Seventh grade students also came to celebrate with us and read books to my students in small groups. My students were so excited to get their new books read to them by the big kids.\r\n\r\nThe other goodies such as the erasers and pencils were also a big hit. Having a comfortable community carpet in my classroom is very important to me and helping me create a welcoming classroom culture. Our community rug is used for whole group instruction in Reading and Math as well as a place for students to work comfortably to complete their independent work.\r\n\r\nMy students absolutely love our new carpet. It is the perfect size to fit all of my students on comfortably so that we can work as a team to learn and complete assignments. My students also love vacuuming the carpet to keep it clean for us to use for our daily learning. I love using this for our morning meeting time when students are first arriving at school and eating their breakfast. This gives them something to focus on that is also very interesting and engaging. I try to focus the videos on what we are learning in Math or Science at the time so that they can understand the concepts better.\r\n\r\nI have also used Generation Genius for supporting our Science and Math curriculums. In Math, we have learned about basic math facts and fluency, multi-digit addition and subtraction, and I am now introducing them to skills such as 3-D shapes, fractions, time, and multiplication/arrays. The videos that are on this web site are fantastic to not only give an engaging lesson on these skills but they also apply the knowledge to real-life experiments. The examples that they use relates to using the skill to real life scenarios and I believe it helps my students undertand the concepts better. They also love the songs at the end of the lessons that review the skill. My students and I love our new storage shelf for our small group folders and work and it looks beautiful. I feel like this also keeps them more organized and everything is together for easy access.\r\n\r\nOver the years I have had bean bags and my students always love them. They use them to sit in our library work work on their computers, read books, or just to work in small groups. They also use them on our community carpet when we need extra space or have extra kids.\r\n\r\nI really enjoy using the essential oils that I received. I use them in diffusers that I have and I have also made a carpet refresher bottle that I use daily. These scents make our classroom smell wonderful and relaxing.
