The supplies that I asked for are things that were used to help us organize or have what we need on a daily basis. Headphones are an important resource in my room that we use daily for our Reading and Math independent work. Because we use them everyday, they wear out and need to be replaced several times throughout the year. This project helped me to have new headphones ready for my incoming class to use. Each student was given a pair to keep in a ziplock bag with their name so that they didn't have to share with others. The dot labels helped to organize my library better so that it is easier to put books back where they belong. The ink was used to print out labels and vocabulary cards to go with our Reading curriculum. The tooth holders have been a hit with my students too. We have aleady had to use five so far this year!\r\n\r\nThank you so much again for supporting my class and our project for these supplies. I have been using Scholastic News and Science Spin for years and I know that my students always love them. Every month we receive four different Scholastic News magazine sets and one Science Spin set. We spend a few days on each magazine going over the vocabulary, videos, the magazine articles, and finally the review game. I also print out the worksheets that go with each magazine to reinforce what we learned and to practice different Literacy skills.\r\n\r\nI have been using these magazines for many years and all of my students have thoroughly enjoyed them. They get to learn about different things such as back to school and classroom community subjects, learn about authors, different animals such as squirrels getting ready for winter, and an issue about Fall which also corresponds with what we were learning during Reading class.. Having the essential tools and supplies needed for school at the beginning of the year helps to start on the right foot because many of my students do not always bring in supplies. My students loved being able to pick out their own pouches and the color varities that they came in.\r\n\r\nHaving essential supplies such as pencils, erasers, and colored pencils is something that is needed on a daily basis to be a successful scholar. Having extra pencils on hand also helps to keep my classroom running smoothly because if they loose their pencils, they know where they can get new ones without effecting their learning. The pencil pouches have been mostly successful in keeping my students supplies organized too in their desks. Being able to find their supplies in a timely manner also helps with the efficiency of my classroom.\r\n\r\nThank you so much for supporting my project and my students! I can gladly say that my students LOVE the treats that I picked out for them. I explained to them that these were healthy snacks that would help them focus in class and also give them good vitamins.\r\n\r\nMy students love the variety of treats to choose from such as the granola bars, mixed nuts, peanuts, almonds, goldfish, fruit snacks, and much more. The fruit snacks that I got in this project are covered in yogurt so they are extra yummy. When I get new snacks I tell students to pick something they might not have tried before and if they don't like it they can get something else. This allows them to be curious about new things but at the same time will be able to get something that they do like. They think that all of the snacks taste great (especially the honey roasted peanuts) and can't believe that they are all so healthy.\r\n\r\nThank you so much for your generosity!
