My students come from low income and high poverty homes. Students come to my class for small group, reading support. They are struggling in their kindergarten to 3rd grade classrooms. Some are just learning English. Others have learning disabilities. Many have already experienced trauma in their lives and face challenges daily. Yet they come to school excited to learn. School is their safe place. Our school in underfunded, thus we lack basic materials and supplies needed to help students succeed academically. I do my best to create a loving, nurturing environment. My goal is to help them reach their full potential. I believe education is a key to a person's success in life. My students can be successful if given a chance.
