The new changing tents give our dancers a private place to change, while the makeup mirrors allow them to see what they are doing and help one another get performance-ready. What might seem like simple supplies have given my students a much more organized and professional backstage experience.\r\n\r\nMy students were excited to see the new equipment and immediately understood how much easier it would make preparing for performances. For many of my autistic students, auditory sensitivity can make the everyday bustle and noise of a school day feel overwhelming, overstimulating, and deeply distracting. Standard classroom activity—such as moving chairs, group discussions, and hallway foot traffic—often creates a challenging sensory background that hinders their ability to concentrate and feel secure.\r\n\r\nThe introduction of Loop earplugs has made a profound difference in addressing these challenges. By intelligently filtering out background ambient noise while still allowing clear instruction and conversation to pass through, these earplugs enable students to remain calm, emotionally regulated, and fully engaged in their daily learning activities. They no longer have to spend critical energy managing sensory overload, which lets them focus on academic and social growth.\r\n\r\nYour thoughtful generosity has established a significantly more comfortable, inclusive, and supportive learning environment. Because of your generosity, our students now have tools that help our classroom run more smoothly every day. The timer has become an important part of our daily routine. Students use it during independent work, small group activities, and transitions between lessons. Having a clear visual reminder of time helps them stay focused and manage their work more responsibly. The Sharpies have also been incredibly helpful for labeling classroom materials, organizing supplies, and creating clear learning stations so students always know where things belong.\r\nWhen the students first saw the new materials, they were excited and curious about how we would use them. They especially love watching the timer during work time and challenging themselves to stay focused until the time is up. One memorable moment happened during a small group activity when students used the timer to complete a problem-solving challenge. They worked together, kept an eye on the countdown, and celebrated when they finished just before time ran out. The Sharpies have already been used to create colorful posters and labels for our classroom library and supply bins, helping students take ownership of keeping our room organized.\r\nAs we move forward, students will continue using these resources during collaborative projects and independent learning activities. Right now, they are working on creating visual math strategy posters to display around the classroom so they can refer to them during problem solving.
