Each of the items below has brought hands-on, inquiry-driven learning to life for my 5th grade students:\r\n\r\nHummingbird Bit Premium Kit: This powerful robotics kit introduced students to coding, engineering, and design thinking. They built and programmed their own interactive robots, learning how hardware and software work together. It encouraged collaboration, sparked creativity, and built foundational skills in computer science.\r\n\r\nCarolina STEM Challenge: Solar Car Design Kit: Students explored renewable energy and mechanical engineering through the creation of solar-powered cars. This kit fostered real-world problem-solving as students designed, tested, and modified their vehicles, learning the role of solar energy in sustainable innovation.\r\n\r\nCrazy Circuits Robotics Kit: This kit allowed students to safely dive into circuitry and electronics. By using conductive tape and components, they designed wearable tech and robotic projects, strengthening their understanding of electrical systems and boosting confidence in their ability to \"think like engineers.\"\r\n\r\nLakeshore Building Brick STEM Challenge Kit (Grades 3–5): With this versatile kit, students tackled STEM challenges using familiar interlocking bricks. It promoted spatial reasoning, creative design, and teamwork while reinforcing scientific concepts like force, balance, and simple machines.\r\n\r\nTogether, these resources helped cultivate a love for STEM, empowered students to take academic risks, and inspired many to see themselves as future engineers, designers, and innovators. The hands-on experiences made abstract concepts more tangible and created a classroom culture centered around curiosity, exploration, and perseverance.","fullyFundedDate":1691964991103,"projectUrl":"project/stem-is-for-everyone/7669197/","projectTitle":"STEM is for Everyone","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Reis","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp545779_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1502604803048","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/creis"},{"teacherId":5182130,"projectId":8274155,"letterContent":"The cots made all the difference in our rest time this year.
