Being new to a school, creating a welcoming and cozy place for reading intervention has been such a joy. The students come into our room and often breathe a sigh of relief as they are leaving the larger classroom setting and get to focus on their individual reading growth goals. \r\n\r\nTaft is such a special school. This year, we have established intervention plans for every class in all grades - k through 6. We have students in high interest book clubs, phonemic awareness and letter recognition groups, essay writing focused groups, phonics and decoding, and so much more. Every child has a 30 minute block of their day, at least 4 days a week, dedicated to advancing them as readers. Thank you for helping me build a space where all of that planning can take place and young readers can come thrive. \r\n\r\nI plan to return to Taft next fall and continue this meaningful work. It has truly motivated them to strive for success, and they love showing off their achievements to parents and teachers as they walk down the hall.\r\n\r\nThe math tool storage bins have also been an invaluable resource. Before, our materials were scattered and difficult to manage. Now, everything is beautifully organized, and students take ownership of keeping their tools neat and ready for the next time they need them.\r\n\r\nYour generosity has made a lasting impact in our classroom.
