These materials are already making a meaningful difference in the way my students practice and develop their early reading skills.\r\n\r\nThe phonics boards give students a hands-on way to build words, practice letter-sound relationships, blend sounds, and apply phonics skills during daily instruction. Instead of simply seeing sounds and words on a worksheet, students can physically manipulate letters and immediately see how changing a letter can change a word.\r\n\r\nMy first graders are excited to use these boards during whole-group lessons, small-group instruction, and independent practice. They have become an important tool for helping students build confidence as beginning readers and for providing additional practice to students who need extra support.\r\n\r\nBecause of your generosity, my students now have a resource they can use again and again throughout the school year. You have helped make phonics instruction more engaging, interactive, and accessible for every learner in our classroom. I look forward to diving into citizen science with them, helping inspire a love of nature and enthusiasm for the natural world. They asked everyday, when are we going to play them? They couldn't wait to play them. \r\n\r\nStudents have learned about the parts of the ukulele and the origins of the instrument. We have discussed how the ukulele works and the science behind the strings being tightened and loosened. I bought colored dots for all the ukuleles to mark where to press your fingers to produce different chords. The first chord that students learned was C Major. With that chord you can play along with very simple songs such as \"Frere Jacques\" and \"Ten in the Bed.\" Since then they have learned F Major and A minor. Students recently played along with \"Don't Worry Be Happy.\" \r\n\r\nStudents are learning many life lessons from working on ukulele. They are learning about perseverance. It's not as easy as it looks to press down on strings. They learn that it takes a willingness to continue even when it's hard and learning the importance of practice. We are so excited to use the ukuleles in the years to come.
