I am so excited to finally offer my students a chance to engage and explore with things some of them have never had access to! To begin, the Comfy Seats will be eye catching to the students and easily invite them into the science section of the classroom. All day the students sit in chairs or on the carpet and they will be ecstatic to have a change in seating that is nice and colorful. Five and six year olds learn through play and exploration and science is worth exploring. This is the reason why I love incorporating centers into their day. Hands on activities that they can work on independently that do not frustrate them are essential. That is why I have chosen the Can Do! Science Discovery Kits. There are so many different sets the students can choose from based on their interest which will easily keep them engaged and learning. There are a few things that I am preparing myself for the new science center such as discovery bottles filled with different materials and insect containers. With these bottles and containers, my students will be able to explore but they will need materials such as magnetic wands, eyedroppers, and magnifying glasses to enhance how they interact with the different materials. My students do not have access to many materials but they do an amazing job of taking care of what little they do have because they appreciate it. I know they will appreciate and cherish a new science center. Touch a scientist and you touch a child!
