I use my MacBook Neo every day to project my lessons, display activities, and help keep our learning moving smoothly. I also use it to access ClassDojo, which is a big part of our classroom community. My first graders get so excited when they get to help me give and take ClassDojo points. They love seeing their points change and being a part of that process!\r\n\r\nSince I work with first graders, I don't typically let them use my MacBook or other personal electronics. At this age, I want them to be as hands-on as possible, so they mainly use the Google Chromebooks provided by the school when technology is needed. My MacBook allows me to be right there with them, projecting lessons and modeling exactly what I want them to see and do.\r\n\r\nWhat I love most is how it helps me keep my students engaged. First graders can get distracted pretty easily, so having lessons projected where everyone can see them helps keep their eyes up and their minds focused. My students especially love when I pull up ClassDojo because they know they may get a chance to be my \"helper\" and give a classmate a point. Those little moments make them feel responsible and involved in our classroom.\r\n\r\nI'm so thankful to the donors who helped make this possible.
