Thanks to your support my students have had the opportunity to have access to the Financial Literacy Skills workbooks that we have been utilizing in class the day they arrived!\r\n\r\nWe began using these workbooks along with our section on workplace skills. The worksheets that focused on Negotiation Skills were extremely helpful and allowed students to be introduced to key vocabulary and practice their negotiation skills using real world examples such as bargaining and working through miscommunication. We also learned how to practice our newfound skills by role playing buying a home and learning the difference between needs and wants. \r\n\r\nAdditionally, our Dream Home project along with the student handouts on Asset and Debt Management gave students the opportunity to better understand the advantages and disadvantages of loans and how to manage their finances while analyzing cash flow. These workbooks made learning about loans, credit, and borrowing easier to understand and apply as we completed the exercises together as a class. \r\n\r\nAs we finish up the remainder of the first semester, we are focused on the workbook sections regarding Taxation and Global Economics. Students will learn more about the differences between income and sales tax as well as exchange rates and even digital currency. \r\n\r\nThe hands-on activities and worksheets have had an extremely positive impact on our Life Skills class and have provided us with the tools and resources to be successful far beyond the classroom.
