My students were so excited when we received the clocks and cushions! They were asking many questions about what was in the boxes that were delivered! My students were even more excited when they found out that the items were kindly donated to our classroom!\r\nWe recently wrapped up our module on time. The students enjoyed the opportunity to manipulate an analog clock to the nearest 5 minutes. With the clocks, I was able to explain the difference between the hour hand and the minute hand, as well as some tricks to help us tell time when the hour hand is in between two numbers and where to begin skip counting by 5's to determine the minutes.\r\nI am so excited to begin fun and engaging independent activities with my students where they can use a cushion for flexible seating around the room. We are halfway through 2nd grade, so we are working towards becoming independent 3rd graders! This allows for movement and collaboration while everyone is learning! The headphones have cut down on noise from apps during group time, and standing desk has allowed me to get out from behind my desk and still keep supplies with me while working with students.
