My students use pencils and crayons daily to complete all of their work. For the end of the year, we used the construction paper to make sight word rainbows. They were so excited to complete this project to practice the words they needed to know on our end of year test, and to prepare for third grade. Each student was given 6 strips of construction paper to make a rainbow (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple). They chose words from the list to write on each strip for a total of 6 words. Each student's rainbow ended up being different based on the words they selected. This is one of many art projects we do throughout the year to show our learning. With the connecting cubes, they worked together to link them into a long line the length of our carpet (8 feet)! They've used the Lego plate to build houses and farms individually or with a partner.
