I have been researching ways that I can motivate my upcoming 4th graders in reaching their full potential and increase student achievement. Research shows that when students track their own learning and data, they take ownership of their learning, have intrinsic motivation, and perform better on high-stakes tests. Student Tracking Binders are a great way for students to take responsibility for their learning. I believe that all students want to be successful. But I also know that they need the tools and organization for this to happen. Having the tracking binders will help them to know where they begin in each standard and how far they have to go for mastery.
