We were able to order drums and even a few other materials for the music room. Students from kindergarten through 5th grade have used them during their classes. Even our students with special needs have been able to play! I do a simple song with them that says, \"Listen, listen, here I come. Someone special plays the drum.\" Then the students play their name, focusing on matching the syllable in their name to beats on the drum. i.e. Victoria is 4 taps. They love it! I even have students who are somewhat nonverbal who are trying to match their name to the drum beats! It's so special to see them trying so hard while having fun!\r\n\r\nNew spread quickly through the school once students saw the new drums. They told their friends, who told their friends, etc. Students who hadn't had music class yet were asking me about the drums, even though their class hadn't come yet. When it was their turn to come to music, they were so excited!\r\n\r\nWe were even able to help out our local high school. Their music department hosted their first even holiday market in December. They had a small percussion ensemble who wanted to play some various instruments (other than typical band instruments) at the market. They borrowed some of our drums and really had a great time. I'm excited that we could establish the relationship with our high school and help support them! \r\nThank you for your donation to my project. The new organizational bins have completely transformed the way our classroom runs. My students and I are using them every day to store and access materials for reading, math, and writing — and the difference in our learning environment has been amazing.\r\nEach subject area now has its own clearly labeled bins. During reading groups, students can easily find their leveled books and literacy games without needing extra help. Our math manipulatives are neatly organized and ready to go, which means students can start hands-on learning right away instead of searching for materials. At the writing center, students love choosing from the organized bins filled with paper, word cards, and writing tools — it's made the space much more inviting and creative. This simple change brought a big sense of pride and ownership to the students' space.\r\nThanks to your support, our classroom is calmer, cleaner, and more efficient. My students are more independent and engaged because they know exactly where everything belongs. I added comfy pillows, reading books and fidget toys. Kindergarteners can have BIG emotions-frustrated, sad, angry. It encouraged them to work on their self and get their regulation skills in check.
