I have been able to use them for decodable reading groups. I choose words from the story based on the decodable skill (ex: digraph) to practice with the students aloud and on dry erase boards before reading. We are able to practice the skill and get familiar with the words before reading. Then we read the book together for a shared reading. The big boxes arrived and the students helped me open the boxes and pick where we should put them in the classroom. The bean bags are definitely the favorites of the groups but they easily enjoy the folding black chairs as well that I have paired with a colorful pillow. \r\nIt has become a wonderful motivation for the students to practice their best independent reading. Students get the first 10-15 minutes to read in these chairs every lesson. I have six different groups ranging from 3-6 students at a time throughout the day. When students get to sit in the bean bag chairs or folding black floor chairs they are reading the whole time! Motivation to get to stay in the special seats. We take turns throughout the week with who gets to sit in the different chairs. \r\nStudents will end this year getting to sit in these comfortable seats. Giving my students this kind of flexible seating in the classroom helps create a warm inviting classroom. Throughout the next school year and many more to come all my students will benefit from this donation. I cannot thank you enough for your generosity. It is people like you that help bring a smile to my students faces and mine.
