Self esteem and character building are skills that should be worked on at any age. Learning for primary grades often comes from picture books and are used to teach academic skills, life skills and citizenship. Students have been dealing with Covid-19 for over a year and a half; educators will need to assess and focus on the gaps in learning and the personal struggles each child may be going through. Not only will the books help to demonstrate appropriate behavior in and out of school, the books selected for this project will help to address the social and emotional needs of students.
