The letter tracing tools and phonemic awareness activities have helped them strengthen fine motor skills, build early literacy, and develop confidence in both English and Spanish. Math manipulatives, whiteboards, and number lines have turned abstract concepts into concrete, exciting experiences. Even the fidget toys and stress balls have made a big difference helping students focus, manage emotions, and stay engaged throughout the day.\r\n\r\nOne of my favorite moments was watching a group of students work together on a math problem using their new manipulatives. They encouraged one another, discussed strategies in both languages, and proudly celebrated when they found the solution. We are using the word builder phonics games to help them gain reading skills. Also, the students love writing letters and words they are learning with the dry erase magnetic markers with caps. \r\nThird, my students love using the STEM toys (especially the magnetic building tiles) to create different structures from their imaginations. We spend a lot of moments here singing songs during circle time, reading stories during read aloud, dancing for movement activities, building during choice time and even a place were students nap on their cots. This carpet has brought our classroom together and the students enjoy jumping on each letter and singing the alphabet whenever they get a chance. \r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the carpet they were very excited to see the bright blue colors and the letters. Even some parents were very excited we had a new carpet because the old carpet looked, \"very old\". I am glad our parents feel comfortable with the ongoing changes in our class and a new carpet has surely made their child's 3K experience great. \r\n\r\nAs we go onto the new year.
