We now have two full meeting areas with spaces available for each child. The students love their own space and a place to call \"home\" on the rugs. The organization of the classroom with the addition of these new rugs has really impacted our classroom.\r\n\r\nThe students know where to go, they have their own space and can make sure they observe personal areas. The addition of these rugs to our classroom has added a homey feel. It makes our classroom feel more like a comfortable space for the students to learn. \r\n\r\nThe colors of the rugs adds to the calmness of our classroom. They are muted and they add to the tone of what is expected from the children. The students love to sit on the rug and read or work on their ipads also.\r\n\r\nThese rugs have provided space, a calming area and room to grow. Incorporating fidget toys such as stress balls, fidget spinners, fidget poppers, and sensory tubes provided students with purposeful outlets for movement and tactile input without disrupting instruction. Rather than becoming distractions, these tools became supports that helped students channel excess energy, manage anxiety, and sustain attention during lessons. By embedding fun, multisensory strategies into daily routines and pairing them with meaningful incentives, students were motivated to practice self-control while strengthening skills in attention, persistence, and task completion.\r\nBecause our learners have diverse academic, sensory, and emotional needs, these tools offered equitable supports that truly meet each child where they are. Students who previously struggled with frustration or disengagement demonstrated increased on-task behavior, improved stamina during independent work, and greater confidence in their abilities. The classroom environment became calmer and more productive as students developed independence in recognizing when they needed a strategy and appropriately selecting a tool. Ultimately, these sensory supports not only enhanced focus and behavior, but also fostered a sense of empowerment, helping students feel capable, understood, and successful in their learning journey.","fullyFundedDate":1765900241629,"projectUrl":"project/sensory-prizes/9948208/","projectTitle":"Sensory Prizes!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Toomey & Barone","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp3936405_orig.jpg?crop=2584,2584,x913,y328&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1772652895668","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/3936405"},{"teacherId":1703393,"projectId":9723961,"letterContent":"Having this extra screen has helped our class immensely!
