Using the donated sketchbooks, quality drawing pencils, markers, paints, and textured papers, students were asked to create a visual piece that represents who they are—their interests, culture, goals, and personality. Before receiving these supplies, students often had to share materials or limit their ideas based on what was available. Now, every student has access to the tools they need to fully explore their creativity. One memorable moment was watching a normally quiet student confidently explain how the colors and symbols in their artwork represented their family and dreams for the future. Having the right supplies allowed that student to express ideas they may not have been able to put into words.\r\n\r\nWhen students first saw the new materials, their reaction was pure excitement. There were gasps, smiles, and lots of eager questions as we unpacked everything together. Some students immediately began brainstorming ideas, while others carefully examined each item with curiosity. That initial reaction set the tone for our lessons—students felt valued, supported, and inspired.
