My scholars use it to practice skills, listen to directions and passages, complete interactive activities, and work independently at their own level. Having headphones allows them to focus on their own learning without being distracted by the sounds around them. This is especially helpful during centers when they are working on different activities at the same time.\r\n\r\nThe earbuds have been especially beneficial because I was able to give each scholar a pair that they could keep at home. This means they do not have to bring their headphones back and forth to school every day. In the past, many of my classroom headphones have broken while being carried around in their book bags. By having a pair to keep at home, scholars have a reliable set available when they need one without having to worry about transporting them back and forth.\r\n\r\nWhat is especially exciting about these new headphones and earbuds is that my scholars now have reliable technology they can use when they need it. Many of my scholars cannot afford to purchase headphones, and headphones brought from home can sometimes break during the year. We are only one week into school, and I have already had to give a classroom pair to someone because their headphones had broken. Having extra headphones available means that a broken pair will not prevent a scholar from participating in an activity or completing an assignment.\r\n\r\nMy scholars have been especially excited to have their own earbuds because it gives them a sense of responsibility and ownership over an important learning tool. Scholars who have needed classroom headphones have been very grateful to know that they have a backup available and can continue learning without missing a center or falling behind.\r\n\r\nYour generosity is providing more than just headphones and earbuds—you are helping ensure that every scholar has the tools they need to participate, learn, and feel successful.
