As a first year educator teaching 1st Grade, I would love to provide my students with a wide range of reading materials to encourage a fun reading library.
The donations to this project would help build my classroom library to provide my students with a diverse set of books that can help them grow their literacy and reading skills. These books can also differentiate virtual learning because it can give me the opportunity to read aloud and show pictures to my students through Google Met.
The books within the project such as nonfiction books, emergent reader books, STEM stories, and building empathy books can engage my students to want to read and feel excited when they are. If donated, these different sets of books can help provide my students with more creative outlets and personal growth. The nonfiction books are my favorite set in the books that I have chosen because they provide students with real information and events that happen in our world. I love seeing students become so intrigued when reading nonfiction books. Some of the other books can also be paired with our ELA program or other subjects to enhance their knowledge and interest on the topic at that time. I would also love to have these books in our classroom library so students can choose books they want to keep in their book buddy and read for a while. Their book buddies can allow them to work closely with one book at a time. These book donations would help foster a creative and enriched learning community in my classroom!
