Thanks to your donation, my students now have access to a more comfortable, calming, and welcoming learning environment that better meets their individual needs.\r\n\r\nThe fluorescent light covers and supplemental lighting have made an immediate and noticeable difference in our classroom. Many of my students are sensitive to the harsh glare and constant hum of traditional fluorescent lights. For some, these sensory challenges can make it difficult to concentrate, stay regulated, and fully engage in learning. With the addition of the light covers and alternative lighting, our classroom has become a much more peaceful and inviting space.\r\n\r\nStudents have shared how much they enjoy the softer lighting, often commenting that the room feels calmer and more comfortable. The change has helped create an environment where students can focus more easily, participate more confidently, and feel more relaxed throughout the school day. As a special education teacher, creating a supportive atmosphere is essential, and these resources have helped us do exactly that.\r\n\r\nBeyond academics, the improved lighting has positively impacted our classroom culture. The space feels warm, welcoming, and safe, giving students a place where they can learn, collaborate, and grow. Small environmental changes can have a significant effect on student well-being, and your contribution has helped make our classroom a place where students feel supported and ready to succeed.\r\n\r\nYour donation was not just a gift of materials. It was an investment in the comfort, well-being, and success of every student who enters our classroom. The benefits of these resources will continue to be felt each day as students learn in an environment designed to help them thrive.\r\n\r\nOn behalf of my students and myself, thank you for believing in our classroom and helping us create a learning space that truly supports student needs. The electric stapler has been especially helpful because it gives me the opportunity to staple copies and prepare classroom materials on my own while maintaining test security at my school. When assessments need to be printed, copied, and prepared, I can staple them myself without having to rely on someone else to handle or see the materials. This is important because maintaining the security and confidentiality of tests is a major responsibility in a high school setting. The electric stapler also saves me time when preparing large amounts of materials for my students. Instead of spending a significant amount of time manually stapling packets, I can quickly prepare assignments, notes, quizzes, and tests and spend more of my time focusing on instruction and supporting my students. Expo markers have also made a significant difference in how students participate in my math classroom. Math is a subject where showing the steps and explaining the reasoning behind an answer is extremely important, and the Expo markers allow every student to have an opportunity to demonstrate their thinking on the board. Having multiple colors available allows students to organize their work and make different parts of a problem easier to identify. For example, students can use one color to write the original equation, another color to show their calculations, and another color to highlight their final answer. This color-coding can make complicated problems easier to understand and allows students and their classmates to visually follow the process used to reach a solution. Using Expo markers also encourages students to get out of their seats, participate in the lesson, and take ownership of their learning. Instead of simply watching me work through a problem, students become active participants by showing their own strategies and discussing their work with others. The colored paper has also been extremely useful in my classroom because it helps with organization, differentiation, and student engagement. I can use different colors of paper for different types of assignments or activities, which allows students to quickly recognize what they are working on. For example, one color could be used for class notes, another for practice activities, and another for exit tickets or assessments. This makes it easier for students to organize their materials and reduces the chances of assignments getting lost or confused. Colored paper is also useful for creating interactive math activities, foldables, reference sheets, posters, and other hands-on learning materials. The different colors help important information stand out and can make mathematical concepts more visually appealing and memorable. In a high school math classroom, where students can sometimes become overwhelmed by complicated equations and procedures, using color can help break information into manageable sections and provide students with another way to connect with the material. Overall, the electric stapler, Expo markers, and colored paper may seem like simple classroom supplies, but they have made a significant difference in my ability to create an organized, secure, and engaging learning environment. These supplies save valuable instructional time, encourage student participation, support organization, and provide students with different ways to interact with and understand mathematics.","fullyFundedDate":1776113239517,"projectUrl":"project/supply-the-room/10161541/","projectTitle":"Supply the Room","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Reugebrink","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-7_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8125772"},{"teacherId":7159744,"projectId":9995087,"letterContent":"Thanks to your donations my students have seen a decrease in the number of negative interactions with peers and staff. This has reduced distractions caused by repeating directions and has helped lessons run more smoothly, making the classroom feel calmer and more organized.\r\nThe speakers have also supported a more inclusive learning atmosphere by accommodating different learning styles. Audio-enhanced lessons, educational videos, and read-alouds help auditory learners better grasp key concepts, while background music during independent or group work has helped many students remain relaxed and productive. The improved sound quality means students no longer struggle to hear from certain areas of the room, promoting equal access to learning opportunities for everyone.\r\nBeyond academics, the speakers have strengthened classroom community and student well-being. Music has been used during transitions, brain breaks, and class celebrations, helping to boost morale and create a welcoming environment. Because of you, my students have been able to engage in history in ways that go far beyond a textbook.\r\n\r\nWe have been actively using the new resources in a variety of creative, hands-on projects. One of the most impactful activities has been our World War I unit, where students designed and created their own propaganda posters. Using the materials you provided, they analyzed real historical examples and then applied those techniques to create persuasive messages of their own. It was incredible to see them think critically about how governments influenced public opinion.\r\n\r\nIn another project, students explored U.S. popular culture by creating visual displays and symbolic \"flowers\" representing different decades. Each petal highlighted music, fashion, major events, and social changes, helping them make connections between culture and history in a meaningful, visual way. We've also used the materials for collaborative group projects, gallery walks, and interactive note-taking activities that keep students engaged and moving.\r\n\r\nWhen students first saw the new materials, their reactions were immediate excitement, curiosity, and a lot of \"Wait, we get to use this?!\" Many of them are so used to more traditional instruction, so having access to creative supplies made the classroom feel different. It sparked enthusiasm right away, especially for students who don't always connect with history through reading or lectures alone.\r\n\r\nBecause of your support, students are more willing to take risks, be creative, and share their ideas. I've seen increased participation, stronger collaboration, and a deeper understanding of the content.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we are continuing to build on this momentum. Our next steps include a Civil Rights Movement project where students will create their own protest posters, presentations, and multimedia pieces to represent key events and perspectives. We are also working toward more student led projects, where they will research, design, and present their learning in ways that showcase both historical knowledge and creativity.\r\n\r\nYour contribution has truly made a difference in how my students experience learning.
