Because of you, my students now have access to flexible seating and essential supplies that have already made a meaningful difference in our daily learning. The floor cushions and stadium seat have quickly become student favorites during independent reading, writing, and partner work. Students are able to choose a comfortable space that helps them stay focused, and I've noticed an increase in both engagement and stamina—especially during longer writing blocks and reading time.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials first arrived, the excitement in the room was immediate. Students were eager to try out the new seating and could not wait to use the fresh supplies like markers and Post-it notes. It created such a positive classroom moment—students felt valued, supported, and excited to learn. Even small tools like sticky notes and dry erase markers have helped make learning more interactive, allowing students to actively participate in discussions, annotate texts, and show their thinking in real time.\r\n\r\nWe are currently using these resources to support our writing and reading lessons. For example, during writing, students use the flexible seating while planning and drafting their ideas, which has helped them stay more focused and creative. In reading, students use Post-it notes to track their thinking and mark important parts of the text. Moving forward, we will continue using these materials during small group instruction, WIN time, and collaborative projects to further build independence, confidence, and engagement in learning.\r\n\r\nThank you again for investing in my students and helping create a classroom environment where they feel comfortable, supported, and excited to learn each day!","fullyFundedDate":1768685928323,"projectUrl":"project/flexible-seating-for-focused-learners/10023061/","projectTitle":"Flexible Seating for Focused Learners","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Rossi","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-5_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9361128"},{"teacherId":10400373,"projectId":10000896,"letterContent":"I want to extend my heartfelt thanks for your generous contributions to our classroom library. That alone has made a difference in how students show up each day, more relaxed, more focused, and more willing to participate.\r\n\r\nThe buzzers have also been a huge hit. We've been using them during review games and practice activities, and the level of engagement has skyrocketed. With 650 elementary students rotating through my classroom each week, your donated instruments, books, and manipulatives have made an immediate and lasting impact. The first day I unveiled the new rhythm instruments, there were audible gasps and wide eyes—some students literally hugged the tub of instruments! One of my favorite moments was during a 3rd-grade rhythm composition project. Using the new sand blocks, rhythm sticks, and rhythm cards, students worked in small groups to create and perform their own four-measure pieces. They practiced steady beat, dynamics, and teamwork, then proudly performed for their classmates. The confidence on their faces as they took a musical risk was priceless.\r\nOur younger students have especially loved using the new music storybooks and manipulatives during movement lessons. In kindergarten, we paired a musical story with scarves and rhythm sticks to explore tempo and expression. Watching students connect literature to music—clapping syllables, moving to contrasting sections, and identifying instrument families—has deepened their understanding in ways I couldn't have done before. The excitement when they first saw the colorful materials was pure joy; they immediately asked, \"Do we get to use those today?!\"\r\nLooking ahead, our next step is expanding student composition and performance opportunities. Fourth graders are beginning a unit where they will arrange simple folk melodies using our new instruments, experimenting with form and accompaniment patterns. My goal is to build toward informal class \"share days\" where students can showcase their creations and reflect on their musical choices. Your support has not only provided tools—it has given my students ownership, creativity, and confidence in making music. Because of you, my students have access to new books, organizational tools, and classroom materials that truly make a difference in their daily learning experience. The books you provided are helping strengthen my students' reading skills, build vocabulary, and grow their confidence as readers. Having engaging, high-interest books readily available encourages them to choose reading during free time, which is exactly what we want to see as teachers. The rolling cart has also helped us stay organized by keeping student belongings like water bottles in one place and ensuring tissues and hand sanitizer are always accessible, which helps our classroom run smoothly and efficiently.\r\nThe most exciting part for my students has been the new books and the toys. They absolutely love reading the new books and are constantly asking if they can read them during independent time. I've noticed students who were once hesitant readers eagerly picking up books and sharing what they've learned with their classmates. The toys have also been wonderful incentives that motivate students to participate, complete their work, and stay engaged during lessons. It has created such a positive classroom environment where students feel encouraged and excited to do their best.\r\nAdditionally, the tubs have helped keep all of our materials neat and organized, which makes transitions smoother and learning time more focused. Everything now has a place, and students take pride in helping keep our classroom tidy. A few of my quieter students, in particular, have really warmed up to participating more often because they are motivated by the positive reinforcement system we've been able to create.
