The basic books I picked out have been read over and over again with some students taking them home to read to younger siblings. Most of the basic books are focused on places in Mexico, Central America, and South America. My students from those places have enjoyed reading the book and then pointing out to me that this is their home country. Students also have a cold, fresh water pitcher they can serve themselves from, saving time by avoiding trips to the water fountain and helping them stay focused on learning.\r\nWe are building a \"tea culture\" in the classroom by naming all tea-related actions in Spanish, reinforcing everyday language use. Tea serves as a great substitute for popular, less healthy sugary drinks, and having a freshly brewed cup available sets a comfortable, supportive baseline for our daily routine. Other snacks, like cookies and protein bars, complement our tea time—especially during tests, when a quick burst of energy and a relaxed environment matter most.\r\nThe photos show our tea corner and the new posters that support student learning. These visual guides give students a clear reference point for key Spanish language elements. Even in the age of the internet and AI, my students still benefit from taking paper tests and looking up terms in dictionaries to complete their assignments.\r\nEvery part of your donation has made a meaningful impact on learning and student well-being. Students quietly use the Calm Strips and stress cubes when they feel anxious, distracted, or overwhelmed. These resources help them calm down, stay focused, and return their attention to learning. We are using it to learn how to design and create custom shirts for school projects and future fundraising activities. Right now, we are practicing by making our own white shirts with autism awareness designs. My students with autism in high school are learning each step of the process, from choosing a design, preparing the materials, using the machine, and printing the shirts. One special moment was seeing students proudly help each other during the process and celebrate when their designs came to life.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the Cricut machine and the materials, they were very excited and curious. They could not wait to try it and asked many questions about how it works. They were happy to be involved in every step and felt proud when they wore the shirts they helped create. Seeing their own work on a finished shirt gave them confidence and made them feel successful.\r\n\r\nOur next step is to continue practicing so students can fully master how to use the machine independently. Once they feel confident, we plan to create more products such as shirts and other items that can be used for fundraising projects.
