We are using it to learn how to design and create custom shirts for school projects and future fundraising activities. Right now, we are practicing by making our own white shirts with autism awareness designs. My students with autism in high school are learning each step of the process, from choosing a design, preparing the materials, using the machine, and printing the shirts. One special moment was seeing students proudly help each other during the process and celebrate when their designs came to life.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the Cricut machine and the materials, they were very excited and curious. They could not wait to try it and asked many questions about how it works. They were happy to be involved in every step and felt proud when they wore the shirts they helped create. Seeing their own work on a finished shirt gave them confidence and made them feel successful.\r\n\r\nOur next step is to continue practicing so students can fully master how to use the machine independently. Once they feel confident, we plan to create more products such as shirts and other items that can be used for fundraising projects. These activities will help students build creativity, teamwork, and real-life job skills while having fun learning.","fullyFundedDate":1769189092145,"projectUrl":"project/creating-with-a-cricut-to-fund-communit/10027757/","projectTitle":"“Creating With a Cricut to Fund Community Experiences”","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Maria Christine Jayme","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-6_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9905690"},{"teacherId":8146374,"projectId":10012606,"letterContent":"Thank you for the hygiene items that were able to be donated to my students. I teach high school students with diverse learning needs, and these materials have helped me create more hands-on, structured lessons that meet them where they are. We've been using the resources during small group instruction and whole-class activities to build reading comprehension, vocabulary, and everyday life skills. One moment that stood out was during a workplace etiquette lesson—students were able to practice communication and problem-solving using the materials, and I saw a level of confidence and participation that doesn't always come easily for them.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials first arrived, my students were genuinely excited. Many of them don't often get access to new classroom resources, so having tools that felt engaging and accessible made a big difference. Students who are usually hesitant to participate were more willing to try, ask questions, and stay involved. The materials helped lower frustration and increase independence, which is a huge win in our classroom.\r\n\r\nBecause of your support, we are continuing to build on these skills through lessons focused on communication, independence, and real-world application. Your generosity has already made a meaningful impact on our students and the way they learn the game.\r\n\r\nMany people are familiar with drones being used for photography or recreation, but in our program the drone has become a powerful learning tool. By filming practices and drills from above, we are able to capture a bird's-eye view of the field that traditional sideline cameras cannot provide. This angle allows our offensive and defensive linemen to clearly see spacing, alignments, blocking schemes, and defensive fits. During film sessions, students can watch themselves on each play and better understand how their decisions and technique affect the entire unit. This visual learning has helped our players grasp concepts more quickly and make meaningful adjustments during practice.\r\n\r\nThe most exciting part for our students is seeing the game from a completely different perspective. Linemen often do a lot of the hard work that doesn't always show up in highlight videos, but the drone footage lets them see how important their role is in the success of each play. They love being able to break down the film like college and professional teams do, and it has created a lot of excitement and pride within the group.\r\n\r\nSeveral of our linemen have really embraced this technology. Some of our quieter players who may not always speak up during practice have become much more engaged during film sessions. When they see themselves on the screen, they begin asking questions, pointing out details, and discussing ways they can improve. It has helped them become more confident students of the game and more invested in their development.\r\n\r\nYour support has provided our athletes with a tool that not only improves their football skills but also teaches them how to analyze, reflect, and learn from their experiences. Working in a Title I school, I often hear about the challenges many families face in providing enough food. Having snacks available has helped my students feel cared for and valued. Some students stop by my office every morning for a quick snack so they can stay focused, while others see it as a reward for improving their grades or attendance.\r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw the materials, they were genuinely excited and curious. The snacks immediately created a sense of comfort and trust, while the Buddha Board sparked interest and calm as students explored it. Many of them were eager to try something new, especially tools that helped them relax and express themselves without pressure.\r\n\r\nWe are using these resources daily in meaningful ways. For example, during check-ins, students use the Buddha Board as a calming strategy before opening up about their day. I've had moments where a student came in feeling overwhelmed, spent a few quiet minutes drawing on the board, and then felt ready to talk through what was bothering them. The snacks often serve as a bridge, helping students feel at ease and more willing to engage in conversation or reflection.\r\n\r\nThis support has allowed me to connect with students more frequently through brief, regular check-ins. It has also made it easier to implement SEL interventions that help students cope with the many challenges they face both in and out of school.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, the next steps for my students include continuing to build self-regulation and communication skills through consistent use of these tools. I plan to incorporate more structured SEL activities using the materials, such as goal-setting sessions and reflection exercises. These resources will continue to support a safe space where students can grow academically and emotionally, and where they feel supported every step of the way.","fullyFundedDate":1768634615324,"projectUrl":"project/nourish-motivate-thrive-supporting-st/10011578/","projectTitle":"Nourish, Motivate, Thrive: Supporting Students with Snacks & SEL Tools","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Cobian-Reynoso","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-2_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9210402"},{"teacherId":10404762,"projectId":10026806,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous contribution to my classroom project through DonorsChoose.
