Share a specific classroom project or moment.\r\nThe new games have become an important part of our daily learning routine. We use them during small-group instruction and learning centers, where students can practice key skills in a hands-on and interactive way. One of my favorite moments was watching students collaborate, explain their thinking to one another, and problem-solve together while playing. The games allow students to deepen their understanding of concepts while staying highly engaged and motivated.\r\n\r\nHow did your students react when they first saw the materials?\r\nMy students were absolutely thrilled when they first saw the materials. Their excitement was immediate—they couldn't wait to try them out. Many students asked questions, shared ideas, and eagerly volunteered to be the first group to play. Seeing learning presented in a fun and interactive format helped spark curiosity and set a positive tone for our lessons.\r\n\r\nWhat are the next steps for your students on a current classroom lesson or project?\r\n\r\nMoving forward, students will continue using these resources to reinforce and extend their learning. We will incorporate the games into ongoing lessons to build confidence, strengthen skills, and encourage independent and collaborative learning. As students become more familiar with the materials, they will be challenged to think more deeply, explain their reasoning, and apply what they've learned in new ways.","fullyFundedDate":1700465545576,"projectUrl":"project/hands-on-learning/8052778/","projectTitle":"Hands-on Learning","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Thomas","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9375399_orig.png?crop=960,960,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1700463486730","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9375399"},{"teacherId":7072208,"projectId":8022897,"letterContent":"Your donation enables my students to have access to colorful supplies that turn their writing into works of art. I have heard before that books can be a mirror or a window, meaning that we want to have books that students can see themselves in and books that expose them to the outside world. I have carefully selected texts that include a variety of characters from different ethnicities, religions, body types, personality types, and cultures. As always, my number one goal is to inspire students to love reading. Having all these different books definitely does that. The next goal is that gain empathy and social skills, which is made possible by reading about characters both like and unlike themselves. Finally, they become better readers through skills like inferencing, identifying author's purpose, summarizing, identifying text type, and contrasting. I've noticed that they are more focused and willing to participate, and the relaxed atmosphere has helped create a positive learning environment where everyone feels supported.\r\n\r\nThe addition of holiday books has brought even more joy to our classroom. Students eagerly gravitate toward the festive stories, enjoying the colorful illustrations and seasonal themes.
