To our anonymous donor, your kindness has provided tools these students will use every single day. Finally, a huge thank you to Ripple; your matching funds were the catalyst that brought this project to life so quickly.\r\n\r\nWhile many of us use tablets for entertainment, in our math classroom, these devices serve as a high-powered cognitive tool. In math, \"showing your work\" is essential. Previously, that meant a chaotic mess of loose papers and eraser marks. Now, students use these tablets to solve complex equations digitally. This allows them to instantly \"undo\" mistakes, move blocks of work around the screen to make room for new steps, and highlight different parts of a geometric proof in various colors. It turns math from a static, messy task into a dynamic, organized process of discovery.\r\n\r\nThe students are most excited about the \"professional\" feel of the equipment. They feel like digital artists or engineers. The XPPen tablets provide a sleek, modern experience that mirrors the tech used in 21st-century careers. There is also a genuine \"cool factor\" in seeing their handwriting appear instantly on their laptops—it has turned a subject that some find intimidating into something they are eager to engage with.\r\n\r\nI have noticed that my students who previously struggled with organization have warmed to this technology the most. One student, who used to constantly lose his homework or struggle to read his own cramped handwriting on paper, is now thriving. The ability to zoom in on the digital canvas to write clearly and save his work directly to the cloud has removed the \"paperwork hurdle\" that was holding back his mathematical potential. Seeing him—and others like him—gain confidence because they finally feel organized is the greatest reward of this project.\r\n\r\nThank you all for making this \"Math Revolution\" a reality!","fullyFundedDate":1757565748069,"projectUrl":"project/from-pencils-to-pixels-our-paperless-ma/9634045/","projectTitle":"From Pencils to Pixels: Our Paperless Math Revolution","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. McGivney","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp4422136_orig.jpg?crop=1113,1113,x48,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1651686493663","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mcgmath"},{"teacherId":4422136,"projectId":9197029,"letterContent":"The resources I can access through Teachers Pay Teachers (TPT) are a game-changer for my students. While a traditional textbook can be one-size-fits-all, these digital resources allow me to customize and differentiate my lessons. For example, I can find interactive digital activities and engaging hands-on projects that make abstract math and computer science concepts come to life. This is especially important for my upper-level students who need to move beyond theory and apply their knowledge in creative ways. By using these prepared resources, I can spend less time creating materials and more time working directly with students who need extra support or a greater challenge.\r\nMy students are most excited about the variety and creativity of the lessons. Instead of doing the same types of problems, they get to engage with dynamic activities, like building a program that solves a real-world problem or using a digital escape room to review a challenging topic. They love the element of surprise and the different learning styles these resources offer. It makes learning feel fresh and interactive, which keeps them engaged and motivated.\r\nI've seen the most dramatic change in my students who sometimes struggle with traditional lecture-based learning. For example, I have one student who is very hands-on but would often get lost in a textbook lesson. When we used a TPT resource that involved coding a simple game, they completely lit up. They were able to work at their own pace and troubleshoot problems independently. Another student, who is usually very quiet, has become much more vocal and confident in class because they can now easily follow along with the interactive lessons and contribute their ideas. These resources allow me to reach every student, no matter how they learn.","fullyFundedDate":1742916345928,"projectUrl":"project/getting-valuable-resources-while-saving/9197029/","projectTitle":"Getting Valuable Resources While Saving Time","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. McGivney","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp4422136_orig.jpg?crop=1113,1113,x48,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1651686493663","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mcgmath"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_94336","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":1784,"numTeachers":82,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":8,"percentBlack":9,"percentWhite":32,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":38,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"21.8:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":51.9,"schoolId":94336,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Northwest Career & Technical Academy on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Northwest Career & Technical Academy","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/nevada/clark-county-school-district/northwest-career-tech-acad/94336"}
