The headphones and mice have made such a difference during technology time—students can focus on their reading and math programs without distractions, and everything runs so much smoother. The mobile whiteboard has also been such a huge help. I can move it around the room and work with small groups right where they are, which has made lessons feel more interactive. The dry erase markers, erasers, and pencil pouches are keeping everyone organized, and the foldable bins have made transitions so much quicker. These little changes have added up to a big improvement in how our classroom runs.\r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw the new supplies, their reactions were priceless. The treasure box prizes and highlighters, especially, were such a hit! Their faces lit up, and they immediately started asking when they could earn prizes or use the new tools. Even the hall passes got them excited because they felt more responsible and trusted to handle things on their own. It's been so heartwarming to see their joy over these items and to watch how motivated they've become.\r\n\r\nRight now, we're diving into multiplication strategies and working hard on building reading fluency. The students were overly excited being able to see all the snacks available to them especially because some of them don't get to eat breakfast some days. I allowed the students helped sort and organize the snacks into baskets, and they immediately began to make connections between having healthy fuel and staying focused during lessons.\r\n Since then, the snacks have become a part of our daily routine rather its testing snacks or participation treats. Students know that when their stomachs start to growl, they can grab something to keep their energy steady and their brains ready for learning. I've already noticed a difference during small-group rotations and assessments; students are more attentive, and the mid-morning \"slump\" doesn't slow them down as much. \r\n In the future I'd like my class is to continue integrating these snacks into our learning environment as a support system, not just a treat. They are especially helpful during longer projects, assessments, and group work when focus is most needed. I enjoy watching them sit on the beanbags comfortable round seats reading and comparing books with their peers. Students are able to use this space for independent reading, small group projects, mental health breaks, and even quiet brain breaks when they need to reset. We have enjoyed creating projects that have given the children a chance to explore their creativity. The tempera cakes were a hit. We are a Title I School that is one hundred percent free lunch. The color pencils, regular pencils and markers are used frequently in science to draw diagrams, illustrate experiments we performed in class, as well as for other projects. \r\n\r\nThe most beneficial thing about your donation is not having to worry about whether I have enough school supplies for my students, especially those that cannot afford basic supplies. To have functional pencil sharpeners, scissors and markers makes getting through the day that much easier, and productive! Some parents drop their children off at 7:00 am because they have to go to work. These students attend the Safekey Program. Other students stay after school for tutoring which lasts for two hours.
