Students have been perfecting their skills in addition and fractions using the 4x4 and 9x9 Rubik's cubes. They have used problem solving skills using algorithms to solve parts of the Rubik's cube. My 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students have used the parts of the Rubik's cube to identify and reduce fractions. My 1st and 2nd grade students have used the 4x4 cubes to learn addition skills. After the activity my students all said they wanted to come back and do it again and go deeper with both their math skills and their solving skills.\r\nAll of the Makerspace Challenge components have become a vital part of the STEM program in my library. We are using these materials daily during small-group instruction, independent practice, and collaborative learning tasks. One powerful moment happened during our reading block when students used the new supplies to create evidence-based responses and anchor charts. I watched students who typically struggle with confidence actively participate, share ideas, and take ownership of their learning. It was a proud teacher moment.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials first arrived, the excitement was incredible. Students immediately noticed the new tools and were eager to use them. Several students asked, \"Are these really for us?\" and their smiles said everything. It reminded me how meaningful it is for students to feel supported and valued in their learning environment.\r\n\r\nThese resources are already helping us strengthen critical skills such as reading comprehension, writing organization, and mathematical problem-solving. As we move forward, students will continue using these tools to prepare for upcoming state assessments and to build long-term academic confidence. Our next steps include applying these materials to project-based learning tasks, structured writing assignments, and targeted intervention groups to ensure every student can grow.\r\n\r\nYour support has not just provided supplies — it has created opportunities, increased engagement, and helped build a classroom where students feel capable and motivated to succeed.
