My students absolutely loved it! Each school day this week students were able to make a different kind of ornament to take home to their families. On Thursday and Friday, they used a variety of beads to make a snowman, a Christmas tree, and a wreath ornament. My class was so excited everyday to find out what they were going to make. The life skills picture books have been a tremendous help in teaching my students to think about their choices and reflect on how their choices affect them and those around them. For the last 30 days, my student wrote in their \"Bucketfilling Journal. \" This journal has been an integral part of helping them be mindful of their words and actions. Each day, they reflected on how they helped someone and how someone helped them. Then they wrote a paragraph or two about their experience. Knowing that they had to reflect and report on their day reminded my students to positively interact and get along with others.
