My students are a rambunctious group of 7 and 8 year olds from various backgrounds. They are eager to learn and need to have comfotable spots to do their cooperative learning activities. They are like sponges and soak up new information at a very rapid pace. The students are constantly on the move whether they are creating a vivid Venn Diagram or using base ten blocks to figure out a double digit addition or subtraction problem. Having a comfotable, safe spot in our room will help them feel secure enough while working on these activities. Sadly, we do not have enough comfortable spots to work and are looking forward to getting a gift of more bean bags and mats for all to share.
