My students are mostly from immigrant families and they love to share about where their parents come from and the language they speak at home. Since most of my students come from immigrant families they struggle to learn English and have very little support at home. Our school also has a very high turn over rate with many students only staying for half a school year. It is important for me to get a love of learning instilled into them while they are here. I have recently had 13 of my students make amazing gains in reading. Projects like these help inspire them to continue to work hard.
