Students were eager to try out the new options, and it quickly became clear how much of a difference it would make. Giving them choice in where and how they sit has helped them take ownership of their learning in a whole new way.\r\n\r\nWe now use flexible seating throughout the day during independent work, small group activities, and even reading time. I've noticed that students who used to struggle with staying focused are now more engaged and able to work for longer periods. They are collaborating more naturally, making thoughtful choices, and showing increased confidence in the classroom.\r\n\r\nOne of my favorite moments was watching a student who typically has trouble sitting still choose a seat that allowed for movement—and then complete their work with focus and pride. It's small moments like these that show just how powerful your support has been.\r\n\r\nBecause of you, our classroom is more inclusive, more flexible, and more responsive to student needs. They no longer have to worry about those around them and they can focus more on the lesson and less on those around them. My students have repeatedly read the books and have requested I read certain books to them and were able to talk through a lot of issues. The wobble stools have helped my wiggly students stay focused and get out some energy at the same time. The dry erasers have made it convenient and easy for students to erase their boards and be ready for the next activity without having to get out of their seats multiple times for paper towels. When students work with partners or groups, they are able to sit comfortably around the room and even give some cushion to their classroom chairs. The tall black shelves have given students more room to store their work binders and books so they are not shoved into their desks or stacked in a corner. Having the shelves has made it easier for students to get their binders as needed and store their books properly.
