Having access to a small snack has created a natural opportunity for grounding, helping students feel more comfortable and open during conversations.\r\n\r\nWe also received stress-relief tools, such as fidget items, which students immediately gravitated toward. When they first saw the materials, many were excited and curious—they often reached for the items right away and began using them. These tools have helped students manage anxiety, improve focus, and feel more at ease, especially during difficult or emotional discussions.\r\n\r\nBeyond the immediate benefits, these resources have strengthened rapport and made it easier for students to access mental health support. The space feels more welcoming and supportive, which encourages students to return and continue working on their goals.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we plan to continue incorporating these tools into ongoing lessons around emotional regulation, coping skills, and self-awareness. Students will practice identifying when they need support and independently choosing tools—like snacks for grounding or stress items for calming—to help manage their emotions.
