They can clearly hear instructions, participate in interactive lessons, and work at their own pace with greater confidence and independence.\r\n\r\nThe headphones have also supported diverse learning needs in the classroom. Students who benefit from audio support, language learners, and those who need a quieter, more focused environment are now able to access content in a way that works best for them. This has increased participation, improved comprehension, and helped students feel more comfortable and successful in their learning.\r\n\r\nAdditionally, this resource has contributed to a more positive classroom environment overall. We've been using the new social emotional learning tools throughout the school day as needs arise. \r\n\r\nWe have also been using the games and activities from our social emotional learning kits to build awareness and start meaningful discussions about our feelings and how we care for one another as a classroom community. These conversations have helped students develop empathy, strengthen relationships, and feel more comfortable sharing their thoughts.\r\n\r\nWe were especially excited about the LCD writing tablets and the headphones. The LCD tablets have become an essential tool during small group instruction, particularly in phonics and math. Students use them to practice writing, solve problems, and show their thinking in a low pressure, engaging way. The noise canceling headphones have made a huge difference during independent work and testing, helping students stay focused and do their best thinking. Students also independently choose to use them when they are feeling overwhelmed by the classroom environment, which has been a powerful step toward self regulation. It's been amazing to see them take ownership of their needs in such a positive way.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we are continuing to build these skills through structured lessons and daily classroom experiences. Students will keep practicing problem solving, emotional regulation, and positive communication as part of our routines. These resources are helping students feel safe, supported, and ready to learn, and they are building skills that will benefit them far beyond the classroom.\r\n\r\nThank you for helping us create an environment where every student can feel calm, connected, and ready to succeed.","fullyFundedDate":1768794391810,"projectUrl":"project/calm-connected-and-ready-to-learn/10040929/","projectTitle":"Calm, Connected, and Ready to Learn","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Bell","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-8_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10412414"},{"teacherId":10412841,"projectId":10042358,"letterContent":"I want to take a second to say thank you for your generosity and the spirit of giving. The balancing pads have been an immense improvement in learning. Students have been less fidgety and have caused fewer distractions. As a result, students have been more engaged and are completing their work.\r\n As a teacher, I enjoy watching young minds grow over the course of a school year. My second graders were absolutely buzzing with excitement the moment the packages arrived. When we opened the boxes together, their faces lit up, and there were audible gasps of delight as they saw the brand new headphones, whiteboards, and treasure boxes. It was such a heartwarming moment to see them realize that people they have never met truly care about their education and success.\r\n\r\nWe have already integrated these new resources into our daily routines to enhance our learning environment. The headphones have been a game-changer during our personalized digital learning time; they allow students to fully immerse themselves in their adaptive reading and math programs without being distracted by classroom noise, which has led to a noticeable increase in their focus and on-task behavior. Meanwhile, the whiteboards have transformed our small group sessions, providing a perfect, low-pressure way for me to perform quick, interactive checks for understanding. Seeing students eagerly hold up their boards with their answers gives me immediate insight into who needs extra support and who is ready for a challenge.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we are using the momentum from these new materials to dive deeper into our upcoming unit on narrative writing. The treasure boxes have become a fantastic incentive, and I am planning a \"Publishing Party\" where students can earn special tokens for meeting their drafting and editing goals. Using their new, high-quality headphones to listen to mentor texts and audio-assisted reading materials will help them build the vocabulary and confidence needed to write their own stories. Your support has not only provided physical tools but has also fostered a culture of excitement and motivation that will carry us through the rest of the school year.","fullyFundedDate":1768944539469,"projectUrl":"project/blessed-second-graders/9990961/","projectTitle":"Blessed Second Graders","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Carranza","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-7_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9349873"},{"teacherId":8135072,"projectId":10043276,"letterContent":"My students with autism showed great excitement when they first saw the materials prepared on the table. They listened attentively to the step-by-step instructions on how to create their sensory bottles, demonstrating strong engagement and readiness to participate. As they explored the materials, my students expressed their creativity and curiosity in different ways. Some chose to decorate the outside of their bottles with stickers, while others placed the stickers inside to observe whether they would float. Each student independently decided what materials to include in their bottle, promoting choice-making and personal expression.\r\n\r\nThe activity lasted approximately 15 minutes, during which students remained actively engaged. They particularly enjoyed shaking their bottles and were fascinated as the glitter, stickers, and pom-poms moved up and down. This visual stimulation captured their attention and encouraged sustained focus. Each student created two sensory bottles; one to take home and one to keep in the classroom. The classroom sensory bottles are easily accessible during free time or moments of overwhelm, providing students with a calming and self-regulation tool alongside other available sensory supports.\r\n\r\nThe activity fostered creativity and independence and also supported my students' sensory needs, engagement, and emotional regulation in a meaningful and enjoyable way.\r\n\r\nThank you for your generous support in bringing the \"Shake, Roll, Discover: STEM Sensory Bottles for Primary Autism\" project to life.
